Freshman OSU students get send-off

SIDNEY — The Shelby County OSU Alumni Club held a freshman send off at the Sidney American Legion Aug. 9.

Students that are going to attend the Ohio State University and their parents were invited to tailgate type supper, played an OSU trivia game, made buckeye necklaces and guess the number of buckeyes in a container.

Eleven students participated and received gift bags from the university and alumni club. Students will move in Aug. 20 and classes start Aug. 23.

Students who attended, and the high school they attended, were Derek Brady, Sidney; Rachel Schmitmeyer, Fort Loramie; Elizabeth Landis, Anna; Mackenzie Wells, Anna; Amber Buehler, Botkins; Nathan Stiefel, Anna; Kaitlyn Davis, Sidney; Diana Gibson, Lehman; Erin Gaerke, Russia; Dylan Eilerman, Fort Loramie; and Nathan Platfoot, Botkins.
