SIDNEY — Students attending Lehman Catholic High School will return to the classroom on Tuesday, Aug. 23. The school day begins at 8 a.m. and dismisses at 3 p.m.
Several new faculty members were hired for the 2016-17 school year. New to the school will be James Harless, communications coordinator; Kathleen Klosterman, vocal music teacher; Dennis Maas, STEM+MM coordinator and CAD/architect teacher; Lori Moody, English teacher; Kate Topp, senior guidance counselor; and Carolyn Withman, business/computer teacher.
The annual Beanie Wienie Night/Meet the Teachers Night will be held Wednesday, Aug. 24. The meal of hot dogs, chips, baked beans and beverage will start at 6 p.m. The introduction of staff and fall athletic teams will start at 7:15 p.m.
The school is changing to a new software program for its educational needs. They will be using the Western Ohio Computer Organization (WOCO) Progress Book/Parent Access Suite this school year.
Picture day for the students will be Thursday, Sept 22, beginning at 8 a.m. Information packets will be given to the students in early September.
The school’s 27th annual Lehman Harvest Auction will be held Oct. 29. This is the school’s primary fundraising event. The theme is “Carving Out Some Time to Give.”
There are 46 freshmen registered for the new school year. The school will be welcoming seven new upperclassmen.
No school will be held Oct. 24 for fall break. A teacher in-service day is planned for Nov. 11 and there will be no school for students.
Thanksgiving break begins on Nov. 23 and classes resume on Nov. 28. Christmas break begins Dec. 21 and classes resume on Jan. 3.
There will be no school on Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Jan. 16. There will be no school on Feb. 17 for a teacher professional day. President’s Day will be observed on Feb. 20 with no classes for students.
Easter recess begins April 13 and students will return to class on April 19. The last day of school will be May 26. Graduation is set for May 28.
