‘The Mousetrap’

PIQUA — The Edison Community College Stagelight Players will have open auditions for Agatha Christie’s “The Mousetrap,” Monday, Aug. 31 and Tuesday, Sept. 1 at 7 p.m. in room 107 at the Piqua campus.

“The Mousetrap” is a popular murder mystery about a group of strangers who are stranded in a boarding house during the middle of a snowstorm.

Auditions will last approximately two hours and consist of cold readings from the script.

Production dates will be Oct. 23 through Nov. 1. For information, email [email protected].

‘The Cat That Walked by Himself’

LIMA — The Department of Theatre at the Ohio State University at Lima will have auditions for the autumn production of “The Cat That Walked by Himself,” adapted from the short story by Rudyard Kipling, at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 1, and Wednesday, Sept. 2, in the Martha W. Farmer Theatre for the Performing Arts.

“The Cat That Walked by Himself” is the part of the 20th anniversary celebration of the Theatre for Young Audiences program at Ohio State Lima. Dr. Maria Ignatieva, associate professor of theatre and founder of the Theatre for Young Audiences program, will direct.

Auditions are open to Ohio State and Rhodes State students and community members. Auditioners should come prepared to share a memorized monologue or poem, and be dressed for movement.
