TLC serves local community

SIDNEY— Students involved in the Teen Leadership Corps (TLC) program at Lehman Catholic High School took an opportunity this morning to serve their community. As a part of a Miami Valley Inspiration TLC event the young leaders at Lehman were able to help those in their community by volunteering at the Alpha Center – Holy Angels Soup Kitchen, and SCARF – Shelby County Animal Shelter.

The purpose of the event was to raise awareness of the Teen Leadership Corps while simultaneously helping our local community through planned service activities.

As of spring 2016, there are 19 schools, throughout Ohio, involved with Teen Leadership Corps and we are looking to grow the leadership program in the Miami Valley region.

This course has been a wonderful addition to Lehman Catholic High School’s curriculum and it has developed strong leaders for our school and communities. TLC provides our students the opportunity to study leadership styles, manage teams and provide grassroots service projects to our local school and communities in need. In addition, the skillset gained through this coursework and leadership opportunities builds our digital portfolios, which is a resume for life.
