BOTKINS — Eighth grader Paige Doseck, daughter of Bob and Jenni Doseck, recently won the school level portion of the National spelling Bee competition at Botkins High school by spelling the mahogany correctly.

Doseck edged out seventh grader, Madelyn Koeing, daughter of Aaron and Heide Koeing. Ben Goettemoeller, son of Joe and Joanna Goettemoeller, outlasted third grader Regan Serr, daughter of Jesse and Lucinda Serr to claim the Elementary Champion.

Doseck and Goettemoeller will now move on to represent Botkins in the Regional Spelling Bee. The three outlasted 48 competitors from the school, which included grades 3-8.
