NEW KNOXVILLE — New Knoxville Local Schools students will soon be riding in a brand new bus, following action by the New Knoxville Board of Education during its regular meeting, Dec. 19.

The board accepted a bid by Crdinal Bus Sales & Service Inc. for an 84-passenger bus at a cost of $90,585.

In other action, the board:

• Approved the hire of Cassandra McGue as a scoreboard operator, Janice Schumacher and Judy Hoelscher as ticket-takers and Samantha Fledderjohann as the junior high track coach.

• Accepted the retirement of Ted Rupert, effective Feb. 28, 2017.

• Set the 2017 organizational meeting for Jan. 9 at 7 p.m. in the school library and voted to appoint Shawn Egbert as president pro-tempore to preside at that meeting.

• Renewed membership in the Ohio School Board Association.
