University of Findlay students awarded scholarships

FINDLAY — Students at the University of Findlay were awarded endowed scholarships for the 2016-2017 academic year.

Local students include Katie Ahrns, of Fort Loramie, who received the Ken Walerius Student Involvement Scholarship, Majors James A. and Joan E. Sayer Service Scholarship and Desmond Buford Memorial Scholarship; Sara Bornhorst, of Fort Loramie, who received the Flowers Family Theatre Production/Design Scholarship and Dr. Jean C. Nye Spanish Scholarship; Grant Covault, of Sidney, who received the Emerson D. and Laura E. Pelton Scholarship.

Also Jessica Dietz, of Botkins, who received the Ann E. Bonifas Memorial Scholarship; Ann Frieders, of Quincy, who received the Timothy and Melinda Nesler Scholarship; Hattie Greer, of Botkins, who received the Emerson D. and Laura E. Pelton Scholarship; Whitney King, of Anna, who received the Nancy Erme Scholarship and Dr. Marian R. Bartch ‘49 Scholarship; Joshua Robinson, of Anna, who received the Katharine Ballard Reed Memorial Scholarship; Rebecka Stricker, of Fort Loramie, who received the Larry and Joann Miles Scholarship; and Garrett Westerbeck, of Minster, who received the Frederick Kremer Jr. Scholarship, John and Linda Weaver Business Scholarship, Thomas B. Donnell Business Leadership Scholarship and Shiv K. Gupta Business Scholarship.
