Preschool registration underway

PIQUA — The Upper Valley Career Center is now accepting preschool applications for the 2017-18 school year. The Career Center’s Early Childhood Education and Care program operates the state-licensed preschool for children ages 18 months through 5 years old under the direction of two vocational teachers and a program coordinator.

The preschool is licensed by the Department of Education and aligns with the state of Ohio’s Early Learning Standards. ECEC students gain experience working with young children by planning and implementing the preschool curriculum.

Preschool classes for toddlers eighteen months through age 3 are offered Tuesday mornings from 9:15 to 11:30 a.m. at a cost of $180 for the year. Classes for three and four-year-olds are Thursday and Friday mornings from 9:15 to11:30 a.m. for $360. Four and five year olds attend Tuesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons from 12:10 to 2:30 p.m. for $540. There is a $20 registration fee is required.

All preschool families are invited to attend an open house on April 24 from 4 to 6 p.m. They will have the opportunity to collect paperwork, check out the classroom and meet the teachers. Those Interested in having their child attend may pick up a registration packet at the school or request by email prior to the open house to turn in that night. Classes are expected to fill quickly.
