SIDNEY — Kasey Copeland, daughter of Kelly and Cindy Copeland, of Jackson Center, received a $500 scholarshipm which was awarded by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Shelby and Darke County.

Copeland, a 2017 Jackson Center High School graduate, plans to attend Bowling Green State University to study early childhood eduction.

Copeland was a volunteer in the Big Brothers Big Sisters Big Buddies program.

“My favorite part of Big Buddies was being able to see a change in my little buddy. He became more outgoing and participated more,” Copeland said.

Other activities that she is involved in are Junior Leaders, serving and volunteering at her church, Conservation Day Camp, 4-H trash pickup, Fish Pond Food Pantry and working a booth at the Logan County Fair.
