SIDNEY — Area schools’ Academia teams competed Sept. 28 to open the season of acamedic competition.

After the first week’s contests, the team from Sidney stands in first place with 57 points.

In order behind Sidney are the teams from Botkins, 41 points; Anna, 38 points; Russia, 33 points; Lehman, 32 points; Jackson Center, 28 points; Fort Loramie, 22 points; and Houston and Fairlawn, 14 points each.

Competitions took place at Houston, Sidney and Jackson Center schools.
