SIDNEY — Myka Chavez, daughter of Kenna and Andy Chavez, of Sidney, graduated magna cum laude with university honors from Bowling Green State University, May 6.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in adolascent young adult integrated language arts education.

Chavez was named to the dean’s list for four years, worked as a Learning Commons writing tutor, was president of the Adolescent Young Adult Associations, was vice president of Honors Student Association, served as an honors fellow and an opening weekend group leader.

She spent her sophomore year studying at Keele University in Staffordshire, England.

Chavez plans to attend Bowling Green State University’s graduate reading program to study for a master’s degree in reading and a K-12 reading endorsement.
