Holy Angels class marks golden year

SIDNEY — The Holy Angels High School class of 1965 celebrated its 50-year reunion, Sept. 12, at the Days Inn in Sidney.

Fifty-five people attended the event, 33 of whom were classmates.

Each classmate received a booklet showcasing school photos throughout the years, individual pictures and profiles, a class address book and a chocolate embossed with a class logo.

A school days slide show played while attendees mingled and dined on hors d’oeuvres from The Spot. A memorial table with white flowers, candles and photos of classmates who have passed was set up by Charlene Crist Kirtley. A Friday evening gathering took place at the River’s Edge in Sidney, which is owned by classmate Diane Schulze Kloeppel.

The reunion committee was Kirtley, Donna Hemmert Schlegel, Jill Wagner O’Leary, Peg Drees McDonald, Jayne Comer Terry, Brent Kies, Nancy Carper Abels and Sherry Arnold Scully.

Also attending were Jane Eshman Antrobus, Jennifer Jones Firman, Margie King Dooley, Mary Lou Sherman Francis, Steve Lauber, Bob Kerber, Janice Schlater Sharkey, Judi King Jacobs, Josephine Jones Stemen, Paula Stueve Custis, Reenie O’Leary Cromes, Jill Wagner O’Leary, Frank Adams, Mark Kaser, Diane Schulze Kloeppel, Marty Hanagan, Bob Bogart, Gary Meyer, Linda Schroeder Poore, Tom Westerheide, Nick Heckler, Nancy Baker Nolte, Pat Kothman Eichorn, Jerry Schroer, Mike Henson and Jim Stone.
