Houston, Sidney grads get scholarships

SIDNEY — Local college students pursuing registered nursing degrees have received scholarships through funds at the Community Foundation of Shelby County.

The foundation administers the Catherine Moloney Nursing Scholarship Fund and the William and Bonnie Swonger Scholarship Fund.

Madison Young, a Houston graduate, received the $1,000 Moloney award toward her studies at Capital University. Madison is the daughter of Kelly Young and Dave Young.

The Catherine Moloney Nursing Scholarship was established in memory of the late Wilson Memorial Hospital surgery nurse.

The William and Bonnie Swonger Scholarship Fund presented three $1,000 scholarships. Kayla Oldiges, of Sidney, a student at University of Cincinnati, is the daughter of Tonya Sheppard and Timothy Oldiges. Peyton Jones, of Sidney, attends the University of Toledo. She is the daughter of Dan and Ginger Burden. Kaitlin Gillman, a Lehman Catholic High School graduate, is a student at Wright State University. Her parents are Kevin and Kathy Gillman.
