United We Stand against bullying

October is anti-bullying month and Northwood celebrated with Unity Day. People all across the nation unite to Stand Up and Speak Out against bullying on Unity Day. In their guidance classes, Northwood students learned what bullying is, how to be nice to each other, being good friends, how to stand up for someone else and how to stand up for yourself. On Wednesday, Oct. 21, students had the opportunity to show their support for Unity Day by wearing something orange, as well as sign the Pledge to be Bully Free during their lunch. One hundred seventy students took the pledge to be bully free before Unity Day and nearly all 500 students signed the pledge sheet on Unity Day during their lunch time. Pictured are third graders pledging their commitment to be bully free.
