PIQUA — Edison State Community College will host a registration event for new and returning students, Nov. 14. from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Piqua campus

It is designed to expedite the application and enrollment processes in time for classes that will begin Jan. 19.

The portion of the registration event designated for new students will include a one-stop registration opportunity and breakfast. Those new to Edison are asked to arrive at 9 or 10:30 a.m.

“These events are great because they give people the opportunity to complete multiple enrollment steps in just a few hours. They apply, meet with an adviser and get registered for classes,” said Christina Raterman, enrollment manager. “You start out with an application and leave as a student with a picture ID and a class schedule in hand.”

They will receive information about setting career and academic goals, learn about the financial aid process, complete new student orientation and take a tour of campus.

New students will also be able to complete the COMPASS assessment in reading, writing and math. Students who have previously completed college math and English, or who have qualifying ACT or SAT scores, may not need to take the COMPASS.

Students who started pursuing education at Edison State but stopped attending before completing their degrees are also invited to attend. Returning students will be able to register for upcoming spring semester classes, design personalized education plans, meet with advisers to discuss career and academic goals and enjoy lunch. Returning students may arrive at any time during the event.

The first 50 people who register to attend the enrollment event in advance will be entered in a drawing to win a three-credit-hour tuition waiver. For information or to register to attend, visit www.edisonohio.edu/admissions.
