New neighbors bring family fun to the shrine

MARIA STEIN – On Sunday, Nov. 11, the Maria Stein Shrine of the Holy Relics invites thepublic to “meet the new neighbors,”

Relics are not easy to acquire when one uses the proper, reputable channels and it’s been 4 years since a new one has been added to the Shrine collection. St. Andre Bessette, St. Marianne Cope, BI Francis Xavier Seelos, BI Solanus Casey and St. Pope John Paul II will officially be welcomed to the Relic Chapel collection of saints,

This family-friendly event will begin at 1 p.m. with games and crafts on the second and third floors. Saint inspired snacks and appetizers will be available in the Gathering Space on the first floor. Then, at 3 p.m., there will be a special prayer service and relic veneration.

“This is a very exciting time for Shrine. Not since Sister Regina Albers, C.PP.S. added five modern saints relics to the collection in 2014 have we had the opportunity to learn about, pray with and venterate so many new saints” said Matt Hess, director of ministry and hospitality at the Shrine “We hope families plan to attend this special event, as it’s an opportunity for them to have fun and grow spiritually together.”

This event is open to the public, no RSVP required. For more information, contact Hess at 419-925-4532 or m.hess@mariasteinshrine.org.
