CELINA — The Overdrive, 3769 US Route 127, Celina, will be hosting a fundraiser for the Maria Stein Shrine on Tuesday, May 21.

Appearing at the fundraiser will be “The World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra,” which is a popular and sought after big band in the world for both concert and swing dance engagements. With its unique jazz sound, the Glenn Miller Orchestra is considered to be one of the greatest bands of all time.

The present Glenn Miller Orchestra was formed in 1956 and has been touring consistently since, playing an average of 300 live dates a year all around the world. Today the 18 member ensemble continues to play many of the original Miller arrangements plus more modern selections arranged in the Miller style and sound. Just as it was in Glenn’s day, the Glenn Miller Orchestra is still the most sought after big band in the world.

Doors open at noon with an optional lunch buffet from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. by Romer’s Catering. Reservations are required in advance. Show time is 2 p.m.

This is a fundraiser event for the Maria Stein Shrine. For each ticket sold online under “Maria Stein Shrine Fundraiser” ticket option, the Overdrive will donate back $5 per ticket to the Maria Stein Shrine. The Shrine will also be offering a 50/50 and gift raffle onsite.
