MARIA STEIN – On Aug. 11, 2019, the Maria Stein Shrine of the Holy Relics will host “International Catholic Celebrations: Cultural Diversity of the Universal Catholic Church” presented by Bill Krauss.

Krauss is a minor world traveler (24 countries and 45 states), public speaker and enthusiastic lover of all things Catholic. He will offer examples of inspiring, interesting and—sometimes strange —examples of how our Catholic faith has been incorporated or evolved into important traditions and celebrations around the world.

Krauss will supplement his talk with pictures, video and music as we explore uplifting and Holy processions and pilgrimages, national dousings and water fights, Marian races, dancing skeletons, and many more. And most importantly, participants will examine the important faith basis and teaching from which these celebrations and traditions have developed.

The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a dinner catered by Bella’s Italian Grille, followed by the presentation. Tickets are $30 per person and are available online at mariasteinshrine.org or by calling 419-925-4532.

The Maria Stein Shrine of the Holy Relics provides faith nourishment and spiritual renewal through opportunities for prayer and pilgrimage and inspiration from the lives of the saints. People from around the world visit the shrine to explore and enjoy this environment rich in holiness and history. The Shrine is located at 2291 St. John’s Road in Maria Stein.
