Finding a strong tower for safety

0

Do a you have a strong tower to run into and be safe?

For thou has been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy. Psalm 61:3

The name of the Lord is a strong tower and the righteous run into it and is safe. Proverbs 18:10

The days are full of turmoil and fear. The word terrorist is prevalent in the news as is deadly virus. As a human being we have a soul that gets tested daily for strength and faith. We tend to look in the wrong directions for the truth and the strength to stand in it.

I can’t help but think about the children of Israel losing their faith and full of fear at the bottom of the mountain on which Moses was getting the Ten Commandments from God. They decided to build their own gods out of gold. Those gold gods could do no more for them than our misguided government. Yet many turn to our government for assistance in finances, or laws, or truth, or loyalty, or protection from most anything.

(Doctor Phil says “How’s that working for you?) I think if you read about Moses you would think he may have said that to the Israelites when he came down and saw them worshipping those fake and false gods.

As a Christian for 20 plus years I won’t tell you I never fear or I never doubt. I am a human and I have a soul that houses my emotions. What helps me is my spirit has changed since I got saved by the blood of Jesus. His spirit now dwells within me. That makes me righteous in the eyes of God. I can’t make myself righteous because I am human with a soul. The Holy Spirit is working on me and saves me from my old self and the enemy. God is my strong tower. Without Him I am just a human being with a sinful nature and no guidance but my own. And I can tell you that was not working for me.

I think a lot of people think there is no God, or that he’s forsaken us but he told us in his word many times that he would not leave us or forsake us. (Unlike our government has broken their promise and has left those Americans in Afghanistan) now I believe that promise from God is for those whom have received him and his gift of salvation. The Bible says he does not hear a sinners prayer. Now we know that God hears not sinners but if any man be a worshipper of God, and does his will, him he hears. John 9:31 The only prayer he hears from a sinner is one of repentance and for forgiveness. His ear is tuned to those prayers as he wants none to perish. The righteous perish and no man lays it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come. Isaiah 57:1

We have a choice…We can choose Jesus and be saved and gain a strong tower to run into and be safe or we can choose the way of the world and only hope it will work for us. I pray you will search your hearts and choose wisdom with Jesus.
