Sidney church plans Day Camp

SIDNEY — St. John’s Lutheran Church, 120 W. Water St., will hold its fourth annual Day Camp at the church Aug. 3-7 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The camp is an outreach for all children in the community who will be entering first through seventh grades in the fall.

The theme this year is “A Love That Never Ends.” Participants will explore the stories of God’s covenant with Abraham, Water in the Wilderness, Ruth and Naomi, Jonah and God, and God and Jeremiah’s call. Through worship, Bible study, crafts and music, the children will learn about their calling to love God and others from people in the Old Testament who struggled to do the same, organizers said.

The days will be filled with learning, fun and fellowship, organizers said. Several activities will be held off-site for the children. All activities will be conducted under a trained staff from Lutheran Outdoor Ministries of Ohio. There is no cost for participants; all expenses will be paid by Luther’s Purse of St. John’s Lutheran Church as an outreach ministry. Lunch will be provided.

Advance registration is helpful, but not required. Registration forms are available on the church website, www.sidneystjohns.com or can be picked up at the church office on weekdays. For more information or to register, call the church, 492-8047.
