Holy Rosay Parish Festival kicks off Friday, June 10

ST. MARYS – One of the summer’s main events, the Holy Rosary Parish Festival kicks off Friday, June 10 and features one of the most attractive entertainment schedules in the area. The festival runs through Sunday, June 12, on the parish and church grounds in St. Marys.

“Once again we feel our entertainment schedule is very attractive and one of many great reasons to attend our annual festival, “said Don Glaser, one of the festival’s co-chairman. “We feel we have a festival that has something for everyone. It’s a family fun event that helps our parish and school. We also have great food, games, rides and activities for everyone. Holy Rosary parishioners are working hard to make this a successful event.”

The entertainment schedule features the following:

Friday

• 5 to 8 p.m. Freddy Purdy

• 8:45 to 11:45 p.m. The Electrik Circus

Saturday

• 8 to 11 p.m. The Hipnotix

Sunday

• Noon to 1:30 p.m. The AC Swing Band

• 6 to 9 p.m. Roger DeMange

On Saturday, June 11, the second Cara Young Memorial 5K Run/Fun Walk starts at 8:30 a.m. at the corner of South and Pine Streets. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. Registration is $10 or $20 with a T-shirt. Registration forms are available on the Holy Rosary Parish website (holyrosarychurch.us), in Holy Rosary Church or at the parish office.

A variety of food selections also await attendees. One annual feature is the festival’s chicken fry located in the K of C Hall at the corner of Spring and Pine Streets. Chicken dinners will be served from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday and noon. to 7 p.m. Sunday.

Festival organizers have planned lots of activities for the youth including a special area for kids’ games. Rides are located on Pine and South Streets. On Saturday, the traditional Kiddie Tractor Pull takes center stage at 6 p.m. Registration begins at 5: p.m.

Capping off the weekend, the festival’s annual cash drawing is held starting at 9 p.m. with more than $3,500 in cash prizes to be given away, including the top prize of $2,500. Tickets are available at the parish office, from Holy Rosary parishioners, or during the festival.
