Foundations in Faith Community nursing course set

DAYTON — The Health Ministries Programs of Good Samaritan Hospital, Dayton, Ohio, and St. Elizabeth Healthcare, Covington, Kentucky, are partnering to host a Foundations in Faith Community Nursing Course.

This course begins with day one on Sept. 30, 2016 iWest Chester, Ohio. The first session will be an introduction into the concepts of both health ministry and faith community nursing. It is appropriate for all members of a health ministry team including: nurses, allied health professionals, clergy and congregational staff. Persons interested in starting a health ministry will also find the first session very helpful. Sept. 30 can also be taken as a stand-alone event.

For those interested in taking the full course, attendance is required on Sept. 30, and Oct. 5- 7, 2016 at Atrium Medical Center, Middletown, Ohio. During Oct. 5 – 7, participants will also learn how to use their professional knowledge and skills to deliver whole person care – body, mind and spirit – whether in a congregation, a community-based health ministry or in a clinical nursing practice. The full course is appropriate for registered nurses that have an active nursing license in the state where they practice.
