ARCHBOLD – Enjoy an afternoon of inspirational music and family fun on Sunday, June 11 during the annual Gospel Music Concert and Faith & Family Day at Sauder Village. The afternoon concert will feature the talents of Jim Stewart, the Shane Brothers and the internationally-acclaimed Gospel Group Three Bridges. With a variety of extra activities also planned in the Historic Village, families, churches and other groups are encouraged to enjoy a fun-filled and memorable getaway.

During the afternoon concert, the sounds of gospel music will fill Founder’s Hall as pianist Jim Stewart opens the concert at 3:30 p.m. Stewart has been sharing his musical talents at Sauder Village for many years and will entertain the crowd with both contemporary songs of praise and traditional hymns. The 4 p.m. concert featuring the talents of Three Bridges and The Shane Brothers is included with admission to the Historic Village.

Three Bridges’ music is rooted in traditional “southern gospel” music. This blended style has made Three Bridges an internationally-acclaimed Gospel group known for tight harmonies, a unique vocal style, and an exciting and energy packed stage presence. They have entertained and ministered to millions through their recordings, TV appearances and live shows – making them one of the most prominent Gospel groups in Christian music today. The Shane Brothers from Bluffton, Indiana, will also be performing at Sauder Village this year. Members of the group are brothers Jeff and Mike Shane and Jim Loving. The troupe began in 1992 and has since performed with notables like Glen Campbell, the Blackwood Brothers Quartet, the Kingsmen, the Florida Boys and the Booth Brothers. The group and its members have recorded more than 40 albums. For more information about The Shane Brothers Quartet visit www.theshanebrothersquartet.com

Again this year, Sauder Village has also planned a “Faith and Family Day” as part of the annual Gospel Music Concert event. In the Historic Village there will be old-fashioned games to play, free face painting, hymn sings in the Village Church and a fun craft activity for children.

“We look forward to having many families and church groups join us for our Gospel Music Concert and Faith & Family Day again this year,” shared Kim Krieger, media relations. “The afternoon gospel concert and the extra activities in the Historic Village are included with admission to Sauder Village and kids 16 and under are free on Sunday! With special rates for groups, fun extra activities and an afternoon of inspirational entertainment – we’re hoping many people will plan a fun get-away at Sauder Village.”

Historic Sauder Village is open this summer Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. The Village is closed on Mondays, except holidays. Admission is $17 for adults, $11 for students (6-16) and free for members and children 5 and under. Active duty military personnel and their immediate families are also free through Labor Day as part of the Blue Star Museum program. Again this year, children 16 and under are free every Sunday this season – including for the gospel music concert and Faith & Family Day.
