‘Be the Change’ in Shelby County

0

Today, it seems there is one hurricanes after another. The news is reporting fires out of control in both California and Montana. In the last few years nearly all of us have been touched by drug overdoses, there almost seems to be an epidemic in our community. The number of people affected by cancer has brought a new reality to many of our lives. And within the past year our community has experienced what seems like an exceptional number senseless deaths. I sometimes wonder to myself how does the human body continue to breathe through these situations and what gives people the ability to go on. I know the answer, but more importantly does my neighbor? A neighbor who may be wondering — how do I go on?

Our theme verse at Christian Academy Schools this year is “Be the Change!” Our goal for these young students is to live into what Jesus has commanded, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely, I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 2:19. As Christians that command is for us.

In just a few weeks REVIVE Ohio will be a part of Shelby County. Starting on Oct. 8 we will have the opportunity to go to people who may not understand the hope of Jesus and we will have the chance to share the secret of hope in our lives. During this week of Oct. 8, we will link arms and go out into our community to share with our neighbors and friends the miracle of God’s grace.

In a world where the need for Jesus is monumental we can give what God has given us- eternal life through Jesus Christ our Savior.

Plan to “Be the Change” for Shelby County!
