To the editor:

Longfellow Elementary School wishes to express its appreciation to every in the community who supported our “Sneak Peek at Summer Fun-Let’s Get Fit” Family Night held on May 3. Encouraging family involvement with the school, the evening provided parents the opportunity to explore summer activities available in Sidney and Shelby County for their children.

We would like to extend a special thank you to the Sneak Peek participants: Amos Library, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Sidney Police Department, Ross Historical Society, 4H, Wilson Health, P.T. Services, Shelby County Health Department, Family Video, Salvation Army, Shelby County Counseling, Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, Shelby County YMCA, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, Family Resource Center, Sidney Alive, Sidney Theater, Head Start, and Ms. Karyn Bay. Several of these organizations participated by volunteering their time, sharing information about their organization, doing fun activities with our students, as well as donating door prizes and items for use at this event.

We also wish to recognize the following businesses for their generous donations: Bel-Mar Lanes, Dannon Yogurt, McDonald’s, Sidney Foodtown, Rolling Hills, Klosterman, Dayton Dragons, Wilson Health and Sidney City Schools.

Longfellow’s staff, Parent Advisory Council, students and families appreciate all the volunteers and businesses for making this event such a huge success.
