To the editor:

As a parent of a graduate of Sidney City Schools, I’m very disappointed in the High School and the board of education. I started calling in March asking if the school done anything special for any students with 13 years perfect attendance. I was told I would get a call back. Finally, in the beginning of May, after leaving various messages, I was told that they would recognize my son at graduation. They said his name as he went to get his diploma.

How many people in this town can say they have never missed a day of school or work in 13 years? I’m sure there is none, or maybe there’s one or two. Other schools give cars, but not Sidney. You want levies to pass, but you can’t even take the time to honor a student who went far and beyond to not miss any school and be on time for 13 years.

Well, as a proud mom, I will say it again, AJ. I’m proud of you; you have done something that I know of no one doing, and I couldn’t be more proud of you!!
