Abortion is a travesty on American culture

To the editor:

Since 1973, over 60,059,769 million babies have died at the hands of abortion clinic. You and I support this Abortion is a travesty or mark on American Culture through our tax dollars. The anniversary of Roe vs Wade, which happened in 1973, marks 45 years ago since this devastation has marked our culture. When Roe vs Wade passed, it was declared that a baby was not a baby until the second trimester. Now, in some states, you can abort a baby right before it is born. Millions of babies were aborted because the baby had no legal status, and therefore cannot defend themselves, against a deadly choice made by misguided and uninformed mothers.

Now Northwestern University has proven this is not true.

A stunning explosion of zinc fireworks occurs when a human egg is activated by a sperm enzyme, and the size of these “sparks” is a direct measure of the quality of the egg and its ability to develop into an embryo, according to new research from Northwestern Medicine. This is the first time the zinc sparks have been documented in a human egg.

All of biology starts at the time of fertilization, yet we know next to nothing about the events that occur in the human. This discovery required a unique partnership between biologists and chemists and non federal dollars to support the research.

The study was published on April 26, 2012.in Scientific Reports. Eggs compartmentalize and distribute zinc to control the development of a healthy embryo.

Over the last six years this team has shown that zinc controls the decision to grow and change into a completely new genetic organism. When the sperm unites with the egg there is a flash of light.

I rest my case. Life begins at fertilization.
