Help lives, donate blood

To the editor:

Attracting long term and new blood donors to Tuesday’s 11am to 7pm Community Blood Drive at St Michael Hall in Ft. Loramie is essential. With the Community Blood Center in Dayton experiencing an extremely low blood inventory, collecting blood on June 15 and subsequent blood drives is extremely important. O positive blood donors are especially needed.

The CBC must average 300 donors each day to adequately supply area hospitals with needs for whole blood, platelets and plasma. The summertime “GOAT or Greatest Of All Time” t-shirts will be provided for each donor on Tuesday and subsequent blood drives.

On Tuesday only, all who register to donate will be entered into a drawing for a pair of tickets to the 40th anniversary Country Concert 21 on July 8, 9 and 10 ! What a deal! Donate your precious blood and earn a chance to win great tickets. In addition, the Ft. Loramie Community Service Club will provide ice cream bars to supplement the regular snacks provided by the Community Blood Center.

If not already registered, please schedule an appointment at www.donortime.com or by calling 937.461.3220. Appointments are encouraged but walk in donors are welcome on Tuesday. As of this writing, there are over 150 appointment slots open. Please assist us in spreading the word by contacting your family and friends about this and other blood drives
