It is a spiritual warfare

To the editor:

As I sat watching the news of the evil killings in various cities, and of the Dallas, Texas police officers in particular, I found myself asking ‘why?’ First, my prayers went out to the families of the people and officers who were killed. Then, in my wondering why and speaking with others, some of the answers I received were, “it’s a race war; black on white, white on black, etc.” All the answers were pointing fingers at the police officers from various other incidents. Again in watching, thinking and trying to untangle this “mess,” I opened by Bible and within ten minutes I received the answer to the corruption that is going on. It is not a “race war,” it is a “spiritual war.” These killings have been going on for some years now and they will continue until people learn the meaning of SIN and turn from it.

Ephesians 6:12 declares: “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” People, this is none other but Satan and his wicked demons. All the killings were and are wrong and all wrongdoing is SIN (1 John 5:17 (“a” clause). We are in a spiritual battle and we cannot fight a spiritual battle with worldly weapons. Spiritual battles must be fought with spiritual weapons. Trying to fight spiritual battles with worldly weapons, such as: more police officers, curfews, and guns don’t and won’t work. We must use spiritual weapons and the weapon is found in 1 Chronicles 7:14: “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
