To the editor:

Shelby County Treasurer Linda Meinnger has the proven track record of 32 years of outstanding service to the residents of Shelby County, serving you for 14 years as Shelby County Treasurer.

Linda Meinnger is not someone driven by the lure of politics but driven instead by the character and values of honesty, and integrity.

If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. Don’t invest your vote on some politically driven newbie candidate who would like you to think that life will be so much more enchanting and wonderful if they can convince you to simply believe that they could do a better job than what Linda Meinnger is and has been doing as your Shelby County Treasurer for the past 14 years.

Fancy campaign signs plastered all over the county designed to make you feel good about giving up your vote should not be the factor that influences your decision in this local election; Linda’s many years of flawless service with the County should matter more.

I urge you to check the records; see for yourself. The facts are, Linda Meinnger, while serving as Shelby County Treasurer, has made the county money and has handled the county’s finances in a positive way, which has helped the county get through some pretty rough financial years. Her experience and knowledge of finance and investments, and in managing the County Treasurer’s office, have served you the tax payer well over the years by making and saving the county money. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it; that’s why I’m investing my vote with Linda Meinnger for Shelby County Treasurer in the Nov. 8 election, and encourage all of you to do the same.
