To the editor:

I just completed another year of volunteering for the Christmas Community Dinner at the Shelby County Fairgrounds. Of all the functions that I volunteer for, this is my favorite. I help serve the carryout meals and the ones that dine in. The dinner brings together people from all walks of life to spend a day of sharing and caring. The meal is delicious, the atmosphere is warm and friendly and good music is provided by the Anna Jazz Band. No one goes away hunger, all are thanked for their time, and next year the same faces return to do it again. Rodney Kerns should be commended for all the hard work he does to make sure this is a success.
