Wow, the first month of 2018 is almost over. For some high school girls that is a good thing. It brings them closer to a special event in their high school career. THE PROM! Everyone remembers their prom. These girls dream of wearing that special dress and enjoying an evening of fun and memorable moments. These dresses are worn once or at the most, twice, and cost a large “chunk of change.” FISH of Shelby County want to help make this special event a little easier for everyone, not cutting into a families budget or a college savings account.

We will be hosting a “PROM DRESS EVENT” on Sunday, Feb. 11, from 1 to 4 p.m. This event will be held at our “annex building;” two doors east of our present location, next to the donut store. We will have prom dresses available for $10 each. Every girl that purchases a dress that day will be entered into a drawing to win shoes, flowers, jewelry, dinner, hairdo and manicure from local businesses.

We are in need of more prom dresses to ensure all these girls will have a large selection of dresses to choose from. So please look through your closets and bring In that dress that has been hanging there, just waiting to be of use again. FISH always tries to be a positive place for the citizens of our community and this is just one more way we can do this.
