SIDNEY — The annual Wilson Memorial Hospital Foundation Golf Classic, scheduled for Monday, July 13, still has slots open for interested golfers. The outing will take place at Shelby Oaks Golf Club, with proceeds going to the Wilson Foundation’s endowment fund to help support the hospital’s future health care needs and capital purchases.
Titanium sponsors for this year’s annual golf event include Advanced Composites, Inc., Honda of America Manufacturing, Inc., and NKTelco.
“Our first outing netted $20,000 in 1995. Since that time, this has become one of the region’s premier golf events. The proceeds from our golf outing provide significant monetary support to sustain Wilson Memorial Hospital. We owe much to the many golfers, volunteers, and committee members who join together to make this event a success,” said Bonnie Faulkner, executive director of the Wilson Memorial Hospital Foundation. “Since 1995 our outing has raised $780,240. It is amazing what teamwork and commitment can do.”
The 18-hole scramble will begin with a shotgun start at 11 a.m. after an extensive brunch from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., underwritten by Kettering Anesthesia Associates, Inc. Beverages and snacks on each par-3 hole are provided by Kettering Health Network. North and South green fees are underwritten by Orthopedic Associates of Southwest Ohio.
The opportunity remains for underwriting of green fees on the West course. Cart sponsorships are also available and allow a business or individual to sponsor a cart for $100 and, in turn, receive visible promotion on the cart and in the program. Cocktails and dinner will be at 5 p.m., followed by awards and prizes. Dinner, underwritten by NKTelco, includes a prime rib and chicken buffet and is catered by The Spot Restaurant.
New this year – a hole-in-one on 1-west will win a two-year lease on a new 2015 F-150 crew cab 4×4 courtesy of Buckeye Ford Lincoln.
One week at a Westin Resort villa on Hilton Head Island is the “closest to the pin” prize this year. Details about the trip will be provided at the golf outing.
Cash prizes will be awarded for the top three teams, and door and raffle prizes will be available for all golfers. The winner of the putting contest sponsored by the Wilson Memorial Hospital Foundation wins $200.
Sponsorship levels include: Titanium level at $3,100; Platinum level at $1,100 and over; and Diamond level at $1,100, all include four golfers. Gold level, $825, includes three golfers; Silver level, $550, includes two golfers; and Bronze level, $275, includes one golfer. Sponsorships also include green fees and carts, brunch, beverages and snacks, dinner, name on the sponsorship banner and in the program. All golfers are included in raffles and Skins.
“Shelby Oaks can accommodate 200 golfers and, occasionally there has been a full complement of golfers and a waiting list. Typically we host about 160 golfers with strong support from both community and businesses. We are hopeful that we can boost the attendance to fill the remaining open slots,” added Faulkner.
Committee members for this year’s golf classic are John Wolfinger, Marla Flinn, Deanna Kindell, and Faulkner.
