For the third week in a row, Sidney Memorial Stadium will host a high school football playoff game.
After being the site for two Division 7 games the last two weeks, both involving nearby Minster, the stadium will be hosting a Division 3 state semifinal between the Trotwood-Madison Rams, who are no stranger to the facility, and Toledo Central Catholic.
Trotwood, 10-3, played and won over Sidney at the stadium back on Oct. 2, and played a playoff game at Sidney last season as well. Toledo Central Catholic is 11-2 and the defending D-3 state champion.
The game this week will be Friday night at 7:30, and the winner will play for the state championship next week.
There are plenty of games in this area for high school football fans to take in this week. In addition to Friday’s game at Sidney, Piqua’s Alexander Stadium will host the D-2 state semifinal between defending state champion Cincinnati LaSalle (11-2) and Perrysburg (13-0).
Then on Saturday, just up the road in Wapakoneta, Marion Local will play Defiance Tinora at 7 p.m. in a D-6 state semifinal. And just a little farther north, Fort Recovery meets McComb at Lima Spartan Stadium in D-7 semifinal action.
