ANNA — Anna led from start to finish in routing visiting Lima Bath in a non-league matchup of early-season unbeatens Monday night in high school girls basketball action.
The Lady Rockets move to 5-0 on the season heading into the biggest game of the ampaign to date, Saturday at home against Fort Loramie. Lima Bath is now 4-1.
Anna led 13-9 after a quarter and made it 29-21 at the half. Beth could get no closer.
Avery Bensman had 17 to lead Anna in scoring, and made it a double-double with 10 rebounds. She also led in steals with five. Claire Spicer added 13 points and Sarah Bettinger finished with 12 and added seven rebounds.
Anna was 26-for-63 from the field for 37 percent and held Bath to just 14-for-49, 29 percent. Anna committed just seven turnovers while forcing Bath to turn it 20 times.

WAYNESFIELD — The Botkins Lady Trojans evened their record at 3-3 with a 45-40 road win over Waynesfield-Goshen on Monday.
The Lady Trojans jumped out to a 17-8 lead after one quarter, and the two teams played even in the middle two, giving Botkins the nine-point advantage heading to the final period.
Kayla Heuker had 13 for the Lady Trojans, hitting 5-for-6 from the foul line. Sarah Bergman added 10 points and pulled down 13 rebounds for a double-double. Six of those rebounds came on the offensive end.
Heuker was close to a double-double, adding seven steals.

Tri-Village 58, Houston 27
HOUSTON — Houston fell behind by 15 at the half and couldn’t recover in falling to Tri-Village 58-27 in non-league girls basketball Monday.
The loss left the Lady Wildcats at 2-5 on the year going into a home game against Fairlawn Thursday.
The game was closer than the final score shows. Houston was down 14 after three periods before being outscored 21-4 in the final quarter.
Jenna Winner had 10 for the Lady Wildcats.

NEW BREMEN — The New Bremen girls overcame a scoreless second quarter and handed Tri-Village its first and only defeat of the season so far, 47-42 in overtime n non-league action Saturday afternoon.
Bremen is now 3-2 heading into a league game Thursday at home against Parkway.
The two teams were tied at 37-all at the end of regulation. The Lady Cardinals ourscored the Lady Patriots 10-5 in the extra session.
Bremen trailed 12-0 after a quarter, then went without a point in the second period to go down 23-12 at the half. But the Lady Cardinals outscored the visitors 15-5 in the third quarter to make a game of it again.
Debbie Paul had 19 to lead Bremen, and Alyse Clune and Paige Jones added 10 points apiece.
