Monday roundup: Anna girls soccer blasts Greenville 17-0

ANNA — Taylor Kauffman scored six goals and Taylor Noll scored five to lift Anna to a 17-0 nonconference win over Greenville on Monday.

Kelsie McKinney, Amber Stewart, Ella Doseck, Adriana Ashford, Tanner Spangler and Breelyn Berner each scored one goal for the Rockets. Noll had three assists while Marissa VanGorden, Stewart and Berner each had two. Kiplyn Rowland, Bre Tribbett, Mackensie Littlefield, Doseck, Savanna Hostetler and Kauffmann each had one assist.

Hostetler picked up the shutout.

Anna improved to 5-0-1 with the victory. The Rockets will play next on Thursday at Lehman Catholic in a crucial Western Ohio Soccer League match.

Northmont 2, Sidney 1

Botkins at Riverdale, postponed

Botkins’ nonconference match at Riverdale was postponed to Oct. 13.

Volleyball

Sidney 3, Bellefontaine 1

Sidney won the final two games of a nonconference match on Monday 25-18 and 25-21 to beat Bellefontaine. The Yellow Jackets won the first set 25-12 and the Chieftains won the second 25-23.

Arielle Snider led Sidney with 13 kills and Alina Kindle had seven. Snider tallied four solo blocks and Darien McBride recorded one. Faith Bockrath set up the hitters with 24 assists.

Payton Boshears led the defense with 11 digs, while Kindle picked up seven and Bockrath had for six. Allie Herrick served a perfect 24-of-24 with six aces. Kindle followed up with five aces and Bockrath added three.

Botkins 3, Indian Lake 0

The Trojans won a road nonconference match on Monday 25-22, 25-19 and 25-21. Botkins had 15 aces in the victory.

Janell Greve had 21 digs and eight kills while Bella Ewry had 13 digs, 10 assists and three aces. Brielle Boroff had eight kills and 10 assists. Meg Russell had 11 digs, eight aces and four kills. Paige Doseck had 13 digs, seven kills, two solo blocks and three block assists.

Catholic Central 3, Riverside 0

The Pirates lost a nonconference match 25-23, 25-23 and 25-19 in Springfield on Monday. Shelby Giles had 12 kills and nine digs while Allison Knight had nine digs and three aces.

New Knoxville 3, Ottoville 0

The Rangers won a home nonconference match 25-12, 25-15 and 25-12 on Monday. No statistics were reported.

Versailles 3, Celina 0

The Tigers won 25-17, 25-16, 25-23 on Monday in Versailles. Statistics were not reported.

Girls tennis

Sidney 5, Stebbins 0

The Yellow Jackets beat Stebbins 5-0 in a Greater Western Ohio Conference American League match on Monday.

Hailey New won at first singles 6-1, 6-4. Kara Mays won 6-2, 6-2 at second singles and Mara Hecht won 6-3, 6-3 at third singles.

Sara Gibson and Jenna Allen won 6-1, 6-4 at first doubles and Allison Fultz and Alyssa Chavez won 6-2, 7-5 at second doubles.

Boys golf

Anna wins tri-match with Botkins, Troy Christian

The Rockets won a tri-match with Botkins and Troy Christian on Monday at Shelby Oaks Golf Club. Anna was first with 177, Botkins was close behind with 179 and the Eagles were third with 227.

Bryce Cobb led Anna with 41 while Cole Maurer had 42. Both Bryce Havenar and Spencer McClay shot 47.

Botkins senior Nick Fischio led all golfers with 36. Alex Bajwa had 44, Isaac Cisco had 46 and Jameson Meyer had 53.

Jackson Center 182, Fairlawn 193

The Tigers earned a Shelby County Athletic League win on Monday at Shelby Oaks.

T.J. Esser led Jackson Center with 43 while Christopher Elchert had 45 and Trent Platfoot and Garrett Prenger had 47.

Kyle Peters had 46 for Fairlawn. Jackson Jones had 48, Chester Hughes had 49 and Doug Wright had 50.

Lehman Catholic 185, Riverside 214

The Cavaliers won a Northwest Central Conference match on Monday at Cherokee Hills Golf Course.

Cole Gilardi led Lehman with 36. Mike Rossman and Brandyn Sever each shot 49 while Alex Keller had 51.

John Zumberger led Riverside with 47. Jayden Burchett shot 55 and both Jaxon Heath and Zane Rose had 56.

Minster 160, St. Henry 179

The Wildcats earned a Midwest Athletic Conference win at Arrowhead Golf Course on Monday.

Minster’s Jospeh Magoto led all golfers with a 36. Logan Lazier shot 39, Grant Voisard shot 40 and Ethan Lehmkuhl had 45.

Parkway 211, New Knoxville 222

The Rangers lost a MAC match at Celina Lynx Golf Course on Monday. Sam Anspach led New Knoxville with a 46.
