YMCA gymnasts win over 100 ribbons in meet

The Sidney-Shelby County YMCA gymnastics team hosted their annual Christmas meet recently and captured over 100 ribbons.

Individually, the gymnasts totaled 54 first-place finishes, 36 seconds and 23 thirds.

Levels 3, 4 and 9 captured first-place team awards against five other teams, and levels 5 and 8 finished second.

Local all-around first-place finishers included Bailey Althauser, excel platinum; Mackenzie Wells, level 9; Rachel Shoemaker, level 8, Madelyn Bockrath, Ava Parin, Kieysha Rismiller, Courtney Fox and Morgan Shepherd at level 4, and Madison Albers and Samantha Faulder at level 3.

The team will next compete at the Kettering YMCA on Jan. 9.
