TIPP CITY — Sidney’s quest for a Greater Western Ohio Conference American North Division girls soccer title took a hit on Wednesday.

That’s because the Red Devils (8-1-1, 6-0 GWOC American North) knocked Sidney from the ranks of the unbeaten Wednesday night, winning 4-0 at home for their sixth-straight win. It was the first game Sidney was shut out this season.

The loss is the second in the last four games for the Yellow Jackets (7-2, 4-1), which started the season with four consecutive wins.

Hannah Rittenhouse scored two goals to lead the Devils, while Makayla Stallard and Jackie Bashore each scored one. Tippecanoe got out to an early 2-0 lead, and Sidney struggled to get its offense going in the contest.

To stay in the divisional race, the Yellow Jackets will have to rebound on Saturday against Troy (6-2, 5-0). Sidney will host the Trojans at 7 p.m.
