Rose has solidgame for ODU

Fort Loramie graduate Darian Rose had her best game of the season in basketball at Ohio Dominican University this week.

In a 79-72 victory over Grand Valley State, Rose finished with 15 points off the bench thanks to good shooting. She was 6-for-10 from the field overall and hit two of her three three-point attempts. She also added three assists.

Jasmine Glover, Sidney — Glover is a member of the women’s track team at Ohio State, and she is featured on the OSU athletic website in the “student-athlete spotlight” this week.

A senior majoring in social work, Glover is the Ohio State record-holder in the pentathlon and specializes in the high jump and short hurdles. She has also excelled in the classroom for the Buckeyes, earning Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and Academic All-Big Ten honors.

The indoor season at OSU starts Jan. 8.

Haley Horstman, New Knoxville — Horstman had another good week in women’s basketball at Findlay. Against Northern Michigan, she finished with 14 points on 5-for-11 from the field, and also added six steals, four assists and four rebounds. Then against Emby-Riddle in a lopsided win, she had 10 points and was 4-for-4 from the foul line.

She goes into the Christmas break with a team-high 12.5 point average, is second in assists with 20 and leads the team in steals with 15. She is shooting 52 percent from the field and 80 percent from the line.

Findlay is 9-1 on the season.

Andy Hoying, Jackson Center — Hoying plays at Mercyhurst in Pennsylvania and had nine points and eight rebounds and was 4-for-4 from the line in a narrow loss to Notre Dame College.
