Volleyball: Four area players named first team all-MAC

Two Versailles players and one New Bremen and New Knoxville player were named first team all-Midwest Athletic Conference.

Versailles senior right side hitter Elizabeth Ording and junior middle blocker Lindsey Winner earned first-team honors, as did New Bremen junior middle hitter Macy Puthoff and New Knoxville senior outside hitter Tasia Lauth.

Ording led Versailles with 279 kills in regular season and had 61 blocks. Winner led the team 84 blocks and had 269 kills and 102 digs.

Puthoff had 136 kills, 28 aces, 127 digs and a team-high 52 blocks in regular season. Lauth leads New Knoxville with 279 kills and has 31 blocks and 92 digs.

New Bremen senior Rachel Kremer, sophomore Claire Pape and sophomore Josie Reinhart were named second team along with New Knoxville senior Tayler Doty and junior Carly Fledderjohann and Minster senior Danielle Barhorst.

Kremer had 136 kills, 37 aces, 36 blocks, and 201 digs regular season. Pape and Reinhart led the team with 147 kills, while Reinhart had 37 aces and Pape had 50 blocks.

Doty is second behind Lauth with 178 kills for New Knoxville and also has 27 aces and 284 digs. Fledderjohann has 743 assists, 146 digs and 28 aces to her credit.

Barhorst leads Minster with 189 kills and is second with 264 digs. She also has 32 blocks and 16 aces to her credit.

Minster junior Emily Stubbs, New Bremen senior Blake Snider, New Knoxville junior Erin Scott and Versailles senior Kelsey Custenborder and junior Caitlin McEldowney were named honorable mention.

The MAC released all-conference teams on Wednesday. Teams are determined by voting among the conference’s coaches.
