Rangers fall short at Wapak

WAPAKONETA — The New Knoxville Rangers rallied in the final period but came up short in a 71-67 loss to Wapakoneta in non-league boys basketball action Tuesday night.

The Rangers, who lost for only the second time in their last six outings, drop to 7-10 on the year with Fort Recovery coming to town Friday night.

The Rangers trailed just 32-29 at the half, but the margin was 10 after three quarters. But behind an amazing effort from Logan Leffel, the Rangers charged back.

Leffel finished with 30 points, and 17 of those came in the final period, including three three-pointers, to almost snatch a victory away from the Redskins.

Nathan Tinnerman added 13 for the Rangers.

The Rangers were 17 for 21 from the foul line, with Leffel going 7 for 7.
