Big rally gives Anna win

ANNA — The Houston Wildcats dominated first-half play and led by as many as 16 points, but it was a tale of two halves, and Anna’s was better.

The Rockets, down 13 at the break, outscored the Wildcats 33-10 in the second half to pull out a 52-42 victory in County play Friday night.

Anna is now 8-3 in the league and 12-7 overall heading to Greeneview tonight. Houston is 1-10 in the league and 6-12 overall and is at Mississinawa tonight.

“We came out in the first half and played sloppy at both ends, and Houston took advantage,” said Anna coach Nate Barhorst. “And we were in foul trouble too. We had to put some of those guys back in because it was close to getting out of hand. Then we did a much better job in the second half.”

Kain Luthman had 15 points and eight rebounds to lead the Rockets. Carter Huelskamp added 13 and Blake Stephens 10.

Domyneik Phipps had 17 for the Wildcats.

Anna (52) — Frilling 7, Bensman 3, Huelskamp 13, Luthman 15, Stephens 10, Flesher 4.
