Cavs fall to Irish 59-46

SPRINGFIELD — Lehman’s boys basketball team was hoping to build up a little momentum going into tournament play, but couldn’t get past Springfield Catholic in a makeup game Wednesday night in Springfield.

The Cavs got off to a bad start and couldn’t recover in dropping a 59-46 verdict. They are now 4-18 and play next Tuesday in sectional tournament play at Piqua against Russia.

Lehman fell behind 20-11 after one quarter Wednesday, and had no one in double figures. Michael Bunker and Dylan Arnold both had nine for the Cavs.

Lehman (46) — Schutt 3, Rourke 4, Smith 4, Rodgers 5, Arnold 9, Lee 4, Frantz 6, Curtis 2, Bunker 9.

Springfield (59) — Green 3, Young 16, Kavanaugh 9, DeWitt 4, Catanzaro 10, Woeber 4, Weeks 13.
