SIDNEY — The Sidney Athletic Booster Group announced it will host the 7th annual Sting 5K on Saturday, April 2 at 9 a.m.

Registration will begin at 7:30.

This year, the Sting 5K will be held on the Sidney High School campus, beginning and ending at Sidney Memorial Stadium.

The race is open to both runners and walkers. All proceeds will benefit the Sidney Athletic Booster Group. The Sting 5K will be the first race of the Shelby County 5K Tour.

The course, which winds 3.1 miles around the Sidney high school and middle school campuses, will have water stations and split times at two points of the race.

An overall award will be presented to the top male and female finishers. Medals will be given to the top three finishers in each age group. The male and female divisions are: 10 & under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, and 60 & over.

Pre-registration is $20 and includes a T-shirt. The registration fee on the day of the race is also $20, but a T-shirt is not included. T-shirts will be available for $10 the day of the race while supplies last.
