There are three golf outings coming up in Sidney and around the area, two of them taking place at Shelby Oaks.

Following are the upcoming events:

Golden Triangle Open,

July 16 at Arrowhead

MINSTER — The Southwestern Auglaize County Chamber of Commerce and Arrowhead Golf Club have joined forces for the Golden Triangle Open, which will be held on July 16 with a 1 p.m. shotgun start.

Registration and the driving range will be open at noon for ample time to get ready for the event.

The format will be best-ball scramble and the event will offer a variety of contests, including long drive, closest to the pin and a hole-in-one contest sponsored by Buckeye Fort Lincoln of Sidney. A Sandals vacation will also be available, sponsored by Global Escapes Tours and Travel in Minster.

Photos of each team will also be taken and e-mailed to players following the outing.

Individual and team awards and dinner at the Bunker Restaurant will wrap up the day.

There will be a variety of select door prizes and a traveling trophy. Community Insurance Group in Minster currently holds the trophy after winning the 2014 event.

The cost is $300 for a team of four chamber members, and $400 for non-members. It includes dinner, greens fees, cart fees, golfers gift and entry for door prizes.

Area Energy & Electric,

Aug. 13, Shelby Oaks

SIDNEY — The 43rd annual Area Energy & Electric Golf Tournament will take place on Aug. 13 at Shelby Oaks.

The tournament continues to be a premier event thanks to the contributions and participation of Area’s customers, suppliers and vendors.

The event organizers are hoping for a record turnout this year to help celebrate the 50th year of Shelby Oaks.

The tournament will feature a shotgun start at 11 a.m., and the cost is $55 for Shelby Oaks members and $90 for non-Oaks members. Checks should be made payable to Area Electric Golf Outing.

Hole sponsorships are available for $100, and each sponsor will be recognized with a placard on the course and a digital listing in the clubhouse.

Holy Angels Soup Kitchen

scramble, Aug. 23 at Oaks

SIDNEY — The fourth annual Holy Angels Soup Kitchen Scramble will be held on Aug. 23 at Shelby Oaks, it was announced recently.

The cost is $200 per foursome, and hole sponsorships are also available for $200. To do both is $375.

Checks should be made out to HASK Scramble and mailed to Area Energy & Electric, Inc., 2001 Commerce Drive, Sidney, 45365, attention Gordon Buchler.

All proceeds will benefit the soup kitchen.
