SPRINGFIELD — Sidney Post 217 went 2-0 in the Best of Ohio Showcase baseball tournament Friday afternoon, beating the Cincinnati Patriots 6-1 in action in Springfield.

The team was scheduled to play the Dayton Raiders Friday night.

Dan Borchers pitched the entire way for Sidney and allowed just four hits. He struck out three and walked three.

Sidney scored three times in the bottom of the second to take the early lead. Drew Wehrman singled and Kyle Noble walked ahead of singles by Austin McLain, Jace Barga and Bollinger.

Cincinnati scored its lone run in the top of the fifth but Sidney answered with two runs in the bottom of the inning on a single by Leugers, a sacrifice by Wehrman, an error, and singles by Noble and Koppin.
