CLAYTON — After cutting the deficit to four points early in the fourth quarter, Sidney couldn’t keep up the rest off the way and lost a nonconference boys basketball game 59-47 on Tuesday at Northmont.
The Yellow Jackets scored the first four points, but the Thunderbolts controlled the rest of the quarter and led 14-9 heading into the second. Northmont used a 16-11 scoring edge to push its lead to 30-20 at halftime.
Northmont pushed its lead to 13 points in the third before Sidney finished on an 8-3 run to pull within 45-38. But after pulling within four, the Thunderbolts pulled away to a 12-point win.
Sam Reynolds led Sidney (7-7) with 21 points while Myles Vordemark and Julius Spradling each scored nine.
Fort Loramie 57, Anna 28
The Redskins ran away in the fourth quarter to earn a lopsided Shelby County Athletic League victory on Tuesday in Anna.
Fort Loramie built an 11-7 lead by the end of the first quarter, then used a 9-5 edge in the second to take a 20-12 halftime lead. The Redskins outscored the Rockets 10-6 in the third and 27-10 in the fourth.
Caleb Maurer led Fort Loramie (11-3, 4-3 SCAL) with 17 points while Logan Eilerman scored 11.
Trey Heitkamp led Anna (4-10, 2-6) with 13 points.
Russia 72, Botkins 62
The Raiders pulled away late to earn a double-digit victory in an SCAL game on Tuesday in Russia.
Russia led 12-10 at the end of the first quarter, 27-23 at halftime and 46-40 at the end of the third quarter.
Russia improved to 14-1 overall and 7-1 in SCAL play. No statistics were reported.
Carter Pleiman led Botkins (8-5, 4-3) with 21 points. Jordan Herzog scored 16, Rylyn Paul scored 11 and Noah Topp scored nine.
Lehman Catholic 56, Mississinawa Valley 35
The Cavaliers won a nonconference game on Tuesday at Mississinawa Valley.
Lehman led 15-10 at the end of the first quarter, 25-12 at halftime and 39-22 at the end of the third quarter.
Justin Chapman led Lehman (9-5) with 11 points and brought down 10 rebounds. Donovan O’Leary scored 10 points and had 17 rebounds. Daniel Carlisle scored 11 points.

New Bremen 57, Jackson Center 38
The Tigers lost a nonconference game on Tuesday in Jackson Center.
Jackson Center trailed 24-12 at the end of the third quarter, 38-23 at halftime and 49-30 at the end of the third quarter.
McKinley Reichert led Jackson Center (8-9) with 17 points.
Russia 57, New Knoxville 19
The Raiders won a nonconference game on Tuesday in New Knoxville.
Russia led 16-4 at the end of the first quarter, 42-11 at halftime and 51-17 at the end of the third quarter.
The Raiders improved to 14-4 overall with the win. No statistics were reported.

The Raiders won a Shelby County Athletic League game on Monday in Houston.
The Raiders improved to 14-3 overall and 7-2 in SCAL play while Houston dropped to 6-9 overall and 2-6 in SCAL play.
