Gallimore, Bergmanwill play for Edison

PIQUA — Edison State Community College head men’s basketball coach Rick Hickman announced Wednesday that he has signed two of the county’s top players to play for the Chargers next season.

Sidney High standout Cameron Gallimore and Botkins big man Chad Bergman have both announced their intentions to play at Edison in Piqua next season.

Gallimore had an outstanding career as a sharpshooter at Sidney. The 5-foot-11 guard led the Jackets the last two seasons in scoring and finished his career at the school with 980 points. His 127 career three-pointers are second in school history.

He was dependable at the line, shooting 84 percent during his varsity career. He was a 44-percent field goal shooter.

Gallimore earned first-team All-Greater Western Ohio Conference North his final two seasons with the Jackets, was honorable mention All-Southwest District and was selected to play in the District 9 Senior All-Star Game last season.

He plans to pursue an Associate of Science Degree at Edison.

Bergman is a 6-7 forward who led the Trojans in scoring with 14.7 per game and in rebounding with 7.8 per game. His play earned him All-County honors last season and was also honorable mention All-Southwest District. He also played in the District 9 Senior All-Star Game last season.

He plans to major in physical therapy.
