Staff report

The annual sign-ups for the Sidney Little League Football season began Monday night at First Christian Church at 320 East Russell Road in Sidney. And anyone who did not get signed up, there is still plenty of time to do so.

The sign-ups continue today, Thursday and Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the church, on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and again next Monday thru Thursday (August 1, 2, 3 and 4) at the same location.

The cost is $60 per player.

The league will start play on Aug. 27, the day after the start of the high school season. Games will be played at the former Julia Lamb Stadium downtown.

There will again be six teams, with two divisions of three teams each. And the top teams in each division will play for the overall championship, with the other four playing consolation games.

In all, teams will play six games, and the season will be capped off again by the All-Star Game, set for Oct. 15 at Sidney Memorial Stadium.

Anyone with questions can call Ron Burns at 937-622-2529.
