The Shelby County Shock fast-pitch program will hold tryouts for the 2017 summer travel team on Aug. 3 and 4 at Sidney High School, it was announced recently.

The tryouts for 14U and 16U will be held on Aug. 3 from 6 to 8 p.m., and the tryouts for 10U and 12U teams will be held the following day at the same time.

The season runs from the end of May to August and there will be four or five weekend tournaments.

The age group eligibility guidelines are as of Jan. 1 of 2017. The 10U team is for girls 8, 9 and 10 year olds, the 12U team is for 10, 11 and 12, the 14U is for 12, 13 and 14, and the 16U team is for 14, 15 and 16.
